Part-Time Purchasing Assistant
Bridgend | £29,000 to £30,000 pa (this is the full time equivalent salary which will be pro-rata’d for part time hours) DOE | Permanent | Monday–Friday, 7am–12pm
Working for an expanding, values-led manufacturing business with a great reputation for looking after its people, we're looking for a Part-Time Purchasing Assistant to join the team and play a key role in keeping stock levels under control and projects on track. You'll be working closely with suppliers, the warehouse, transport, customer support and the wider team to make sure the right components are ordered and delivered on time.
The essentials:
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in purchasing, stock control or a similar role
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook, with Sage experience desirable
- Previous project management or project coordination experience
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal teams
- A proactive, energetic and self-starting approach; you'll need to be someone who spots a problem and gets on with solving it!
What will you be doing?
You'll be responsible for making sure the business has the stock and components it needs to keep projects moving and delivered on time and in full.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Raising purchase orders, obtaining quotes and keeping Sage/Smartsheet up to date
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring the right components are available to keep projects on track
- Managing supplier relationships, agreeing delivery dates and following up on delays
- Liaising with Warehouse, Transport and Customer Support to coordinate deliveries and communicate updates
- Supporting with new suppliers, product codes and bespoke component orders, keeping records accurate
- Attending project/NCR meetings, responding to queries and flagging any purchasing or delivery issues
