Overview

The Payroll Specialist is a critical member of the Finance Team/Payroll Department, reporting to the Payroll Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for all daily activities relating to the payroll process, which includes, but is not limited to, the auditing and processing of manual checks, voids, reissues, direct deposits, and termination payments. Additionally, you will be assigned workflows to ensure all timecards, employee and payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately.

This role will sit primarily in the office.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma; Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred
  • Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment required
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
  • Exceptional analytical, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Experience with in-house payroll processing
  • ADP and/or CMiC experience a plus
  • Multi-state union and non-union with year-end/federal/state/local tax exposure
  • Knowledge of union payroll and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) a plus

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Providence, this ranges from $51,600.00-$72,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
