What you'll do

  • Administers processing of organization’s payroll and collects payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Handles the processing of employee, timesheet, benefits, and other payroll information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Assists in proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Collaborates with Senior Payroll Manager on accurate and timely processing of payroll related paperwork, including wage garnishments and tax agency notices.
  • Issues manual or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll error, direct deposit returns or final discharge.
  • Manages the payroll email inbox (FreshDesk ticketing system) and responds to payroll inquiries within 24-48 hours, creating an excellent employee experience.
  • Supports Senior Payroll Manager with biweekly, monthly, off-cycle, quarter-end, and year-end payroll processing.
  • Prepares payroll reports for senior management or auditing purposes, upon request.
  • Participate in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.

Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist will support the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring payroll related processes are administered on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Compensation: $63,000 -$77,000

This remote position is open to candidates located in the following states: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, and California.
