About the team

Our IT Planning & Performance Management team sits at the centre of the Information Technology department, supporting strategic planning, portfolio management, governance and executive reporting.

We work closely with technology leaders across the Bank to maintain a clear view of technology investment, support effective decision-making and ensure the IT executive is appropriately supported.

About the role

This role is ideal for a highly organised and analytically minded professional who enjoys bringing structure and discipline to complex planning environments.

A key focus of the role is maintaining our central plan of technology initiatives and investment activity. Working closely with initiative owners across IT, you will ensure planning information remains accurate, current and useful for decision-making.

Success in this role requires someone who is equally comfortable identifying opportunities for process improvement and rolling up their sleeves to do the work required to keep planning data accurate. Alongside planning and portfolio management activities, you will also contribute to executive reporting, governance forums and continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the Technology Plan, ensuring initiative information is accurate, current and complete.

• Build trusted relationships across IT to gather, validate and maintain planning information from initiative owners and stakeholders.

• Use Jira and related tools to manage portfolio information, improve data quality and support planning and reporting activities.

• Develop executive-level reporting, dashboards, briefing papers and presentations for senior stakeholders.

• Support the governance of technology initiatives, ensuring decisions, risks, actions and dependencies are appropriately tracked and managed.

• Coordinate key management forums and committees, including agenda development, secretariat support and action management.

• Analyse portfolio trends and performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve delivery outcomes and organisational effectiveness.

• Drive continuous improvement in planning, reporting and governance processes, including opportunities for automation and simplification.

About you

You are a strong communicator, problem-solver and relationship builder; a Swiss Army knife who thrives on variety and can confidently turn your hand to everything from long-term planning and portfolio analysis to the unexpected requests that arise in a busy corporate environment.

Most importantly, you understand that good planning depends on accurate information and are prepared to do the work required to keep it that way.

You will bring:

• Experience in portfolio management, strategy, governance, PMO or a related discipline.

• Advanced Jira skills and experience maintaining planning, portfolio or delivery information in enterprise tools.

• Excellent written communication skills, including experience developing papers, reports and presentations for senior audiences.

• Exceptional PowerPoint skills, with a keen eye for layout, visual design and the effective communication of complex information to diverse audiences.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise large amounts of information into clear and actionable insights.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the persistence to gather, validate and maintain information across a large and complex technology environment.

• A strong sense of ownership, attention to detail and accountability for data quality.

• A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in automation, technology and solving business problems.
