Project Management Office Opportunities (Multi-Disciplinary)

At HKA, you’ll work with project owners, contractors and infrastructure investors across asset-heavy industries including Energy, Water, Transport, Resources and Data Centres, delivering complex programs reliably, on time and on budget.

We support clients across the capital lifecycle, from setting major programs up for success, through commercial advisory and supply chain engagement, to delivery assurance during execution. You’ll contribute across this spectrum, combining strategic advice, capability building and hands-on support.

The Opportunity

Our Project Management Office (PMO) team is preparing to support a landmark infrastructure program on the Sunshine Coast, creating a rare opportunity for experienced project controls and PMO professionals to join a major program in its formative stages.

This high-profile, multi-disciplinary infrastructure program will help shape the future of one of Australia's fastest-growing regions. We're seeking experienced professionals who thrive in complex project environments and can provide the insights, governance, and controls that underpin successful project delivery.

We're currently seeking talented professionals across several PMO disciplines, including:

• Cost Managers

• Planners and Schedulers

• Risk Managers

• Governance, Assurance & Reporting Managers

• Project Controls Managers

• Change Control Managers

• Document Controllers

As part of the PMO team, you'll play a critical role in providing the forecasting, planning, risk management, reporting, and governance frameworks that enable effective decision-making across the program. Working closely with project leadership, delivery teams, and key stakeholders, you'll help drive performance, manage complexity, and support successful project outcomes.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this opportunity, you will bring a combination of project controls expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence outcomes within complex infrastructure environments.

Ideally, you will possess the following:

• Demonstrated experience (typically 10+ years) within project controls, PMO, or project delivery functions on major infrastructure, transport, civil, utilities, or capital works programs.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across project teams, clients, delivery partners, and executive stakeholders.

• Proven experience working within complex, multidisciplinary project environments, collaborating across multiple workstreams, interfaces, and delivery functions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and provide meaningful insights to senior stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience translating project data into actionable recommendations and business outcomes.

• Experience managing competing priorities within large-scale, fast-paced project environments while maintaining a focus on delivery objectives.

• A continuous improvement mindset, with a commitment to strengthening governance, controls, reporting, and best-practice project delivery frameworks.

• Advanced proficiency in project controls, reporting, forecasting, risk management, scheduling, governance, or cost management disciplines relevant to your area of expertise.

• Flexibility and willingness to travel across the Sunshine Coast region as required to support project delivery.

Desirable Experience

Candidates with any of the following experience will be highly regarded:

• Experience working within major infrastructure, transport, roads, rail, utilities, or capital works programs.

• Previous involvement in client-side, contractor, consultancy, alliance, or integrated delivery environments.

• Knowledge of alliance contracting principles and collaborative project delivery models.

• Experience supporting program governance, assurance, reporting, portfolio management, or project controls functions within complex project environments.

• Experience working with local government, state government, or other major infrastructure stakeholders.

• Involvement in establishing or enhancing PMO frameworks, project controls systems, reporting processes, or governance structures on large-scale programs.
