Hiring Range:

$32.87 - $59.17

(based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week).

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Performs all types of Ultrasound procedures.

I. Major Responsibilities:

1.    Performs specialized or general procedures according to established departmental protocols.
2.    Performs ultrasound procedures for vascular, obstetrical and other specific areas as required.
3.    Operates all types of Ultrasound equipment.  Will perform portable exams in various
4.    areas throughout the hospital to include the Operating Room and Intensive Care Units.  Records images and makes hard copies where applicable.
5.    Uses IDXrad to schedule and complete exams if applicable.  Process labels, folders and films.  
6.    Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies.  Maintains
7.    clean and safe work area.  Reports any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdown to supervisor.
8.    Provides proper patient care. Interviews patients for required information. Explains procedures to patients to ensure their understanding, cooperation, comfort and to optimize test results. Positions patients as required. Exercises care when moving patients to ensure their comfort and safety. Takes vital signs as required; informs physician of changes.
9.    Maintains patient records and statistics accurately. 
10.    Labels scans properly to assist in diagnosis. Labels sonograms to ensure correct identification. Provides test information to physicians; immediately notifies physicians of results revealing patient risks.
11.    Maintain records, reports and files as required or directed

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:
1.    American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible.

Experience/Skills:

Required:
1.    Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college. 

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
