About this role

Without the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, our operations grind to a halt. As an RME Planner in this core part of our large, EU-wide team, you’ll be a leading voice in all conversations surrounding the technologies in our warehouses and delivery networks. You’ll anticipate problems before they materialise and keep track of the equipment needed for different tasks to keep running smoothly. As the expert in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), you’ll be efficient and flexible in a fast-paced warehouse

Key job responsibilities
• Establish where maintenance and repairs resource should be allocated using our CMMS software
• Understand and implement EU standards across all systems in your scope
• Consistently review and analyse on-site equipment, ensuring stock levels remain sufficient
• Monitor the maintenance system to ensure that equipment levels are correctly recorded, and that forecasting is accurate

A day in the life
The primary objective of your role as a RME Planner is to keep operations running without a hitch. Based at one of our operational sites, you’ll be responsible for managing assets and preventative maintenance planning. You’ll dive deep into logistical performance, set high standards, and aim to optimise the equipment we have available.

From small, individual machine parts to entire systems, you’ll make decisions on where maintenance resources should be applied, working closely with the local engineering team. Collaborating with other members of our EU-wide network, you’ll continue to seek out innovative new ways to drive efficiency even further.

About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon’s technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon.

Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon’s crucial operations sites, so customers get their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in planning, scheduling and auditing maintenance activities
- Experience working with CMMS software
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- • Relevant experience in managing spare parts inventories

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with digital asset management tools
- Experience working with CMMS software, or experience in similar environments
- Experience delivering training/information to peers, hourly associates, and senior management
