Job Description

Role: Senior SAP EWM Functional Expert (Operations Focus)

Experience: 9+ years

System Landscape: SAP ERP / SAP EWM (Decentralized)

Role Overview

We are looking for senior, hands-on SAP EWM experts with a strong operational mindset to join our international SAP logistics IT organization. The primary focus of this role is SAP EWM operations: ensuring stable warehouse execution, fast and reliable incident resolution, and professional support in time-critical environments. Participation in project work (enhancements, rollouts, process optimizations) is possible over time, but operational excellence is the clear initial priority.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Support (Primary Focus)
• Provide 2nd / 3rd-level SAP EWM support in productive environments
• Perform queue monitoring, system health checks, and operational troubleshooting
• Handle incident, problem, and change management for warehouse-critical processes
• Resolve issues under time pressure (e.g. delayed outbound, picking failures, warehouse standstill scenarios) • Work closely with business users, IT colleagues, and external partners to ensure stable operations Knowledge & Quality
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support guidelines • Actively contribute to knowledge transfer within an international team
• Ensure solution stability, transparency, and operability over time Configuration & Continuous Improvement (Secondary Focus) • Support customizing and configuration of SAP EWM
• Assist in functional requirement analysis and documentation for warehouse processes • Participate in testing activities (planning, execution, validation, defect resolution, documentation)
• Support small enhancements and operational improvements in existing EWM solutions International Team & Collaboration
• You will be an integrated member of an international SAP logistics team, collaborating daily with colleagues located in Augsburg and Oberhausen (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark)
• The role requires close cooperation across sites, cultures, and time zones
• Fluent professional English (spoken and written) is required
• Experience working in global or distributed teams is strongly preferred Required Skills & Experience
• 9+ years of hands-on SAP EWM experience, with strong exposure to live system operations
• Deep functional understanding of standard EWM processes, including: o Inbound & outbound processing o Inventory management o Production integration o Physical inventory and warehouse movements
• Proven experience supporting productive, high-availability warehouse environments
• Solid technical understanding, including: o SAP EWM & ERP integration o IM / WM / EWM customizing o ABAP debugging (functional level) o UI5 / FIORI applications
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, especially under pressure
• Ability to clearly document solutions and explain them to others
