Job Description – Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance, and month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and hands-on experience with accounting software and MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting transactions and bookkeeping.
• Maintain accurate general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and review invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
• Perform regular bank, cash, customer, and vendor reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Handle month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor receivables, payables, outstanding balances, and cash flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Prepare and review GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance reports.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Assist with internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Maintain proper financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Identify accounting discrepancies and take corrective action.
• Supervise and guide junior accounting staff when required.
• Support management with financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting-related reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with Tally Prime or other accounting software.
• Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
• Advanced or intermediate knowledge of MS Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
