About this role
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with 5 years of experience in accounting and finance. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, month-end closing, provisions, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing accounting entries, managing provisions and accruals, and supporting the finance team in ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate books of accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and adjustments.
- Prepare and review monthly provisions based on outstanding expenses and business requirements.
- Ensure proper accounting and timely reversal of provisions where applicable.
- Perform bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Handle month end and year-end closing activities.
- Review expense accounts and identify unusual or incorrect accounting entries.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and schedules for management review.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as required.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and auditors for accounting-related queries.
- Support statutory, tax, and internal audit requirements by providing required schedules and documentation.
- Maintain supporting documents for all accounting transactions and ensure proper audit trails.
- Identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, processes, and applicable regulations.
Required Skills AND Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance.
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts, provisions, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Strong experience in ledger scrutiny and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting and ERP software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and meet reporting deadlines.
