  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans for material and supplier risks
  • Performing data-driven analyses and trend analyses to identify opportunities and forecast needs
  • Placing and expediting purchase orders; monitoring PO status and delivery dates
  • Providing reliable completion and delivery dates to internal stakeholders
  • Supporting master planning with basic forecasting inputs and procurement lead-time updates
  • Leading or participating in cross-functional problem-solving initiatives to remove supply constraints
  • Participating in or leading continuous improvement activities for the procurement function or business unit

  • Prior experience in a complex manufacturing environment; Aerospace/Defense-specific industry experience preferred

  • Any advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus

Our Space division in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Sr. Buyer to join our dynamic team. The Sr. Buyer will have primary procurement responsibilities for multiple business areas, supporting Assembly & Test and other functions. This role requires a mix of strategic supplier development and tactical day-to-day buying activities to ensure program schedules are met and cost, quality, and delivery targets are achieved.

As our Sr. Buyer, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:

  • Acting as a procurement leader within the organization representing supply chain
  • Creating and executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodity/categories
  • Negotiating supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and risk reduction
  • Managing supplier performance, on-time delivery and quality metrics; escalating and resolving supplier issues

  • Mentoring junior buyers and contributing to team development
  • Creation of Sole Source Justification and Price Analysis documents in support of Government DFAR regulations

To be considered for the Sr. Buyer role, you will need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain (or similar relevant field of study) with a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar, supply chain/procurement/operations focused OR associate’s degree in business, Analytics, or a related field, and 5 years’ experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Prior experience in a complex manufacturing environment; Aerospace/Defense-specific industry experience preferred

Salary Range Transparency:

Phoenix, AZ $60,500.00–$90,000.00 Annually
