Senior Finance Officer

Our client, a leading professional services firm in Malta, is currently looking for an Senior Finance Officer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a hands-on part in the Firm's finance function, working closely with colleagues to keep operations accurate, compliant, and running smoothly.

This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €35K.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of documentation related to expense reimbursements

• Record financial transactions and maintain supporting documentation

• Prepare periodic cheque/cash deposits in line with established procedures

• Assist in handling suppliers, and finance queries

• Reconcile bank accounts, receivables, payables, and general ledger balances

• Process supplier payments

• Issue periodic client invoices and account statements per established procedures

• Ensure accurate, on-time payments to authorities (VAT, Social Security, Inland Revenue)

• Prepare VAT returns and liaise with tax authorities

• Prepare and compile monthly management accounts

Education, Skills & Experience

• MQF Level 6 qualification in Accounting or Finance (or currently pursuing ACCA)

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in finance and/or accounting in Malta

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant IT systems

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional integrity

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines
