Position Summary...
As the Senior Manager, Digital Enablement - Canada, you will serve as a strategic leader and internal subject matter authority responsible for the digital transformation, long-term vision, and optimization of physical assets across Walmart Canada’s retail portfolio.Operating within the Digital Enablement team, you will bridge the gap between capital project management, operational technology (OT), and systems engineering. This role oversees the enterprise asset strategy for refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting controls across all Canadian retail facilities. You will define the roadmap for integrating hardware-agnostic, connected systems—ensuring our facilities are digitally enabled, secure, energy-efficient, and optimized for their entire lifecycle.

About the Team
The Digital Enablement team leads Walmart’s enterprise asset strategy, focusing on building automation systems (BAS) across retail facilities. We drive the long-term vision and digital transformation of physical assets by integrating connected, BAS-agnostic systems. Our members collaborate cross-functionally to develop advanced telemetry and condition-based monitoring solutions, optimizing asset lifecycles, reducing carbon footprints, and improving operational efficiency. We foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical leadership.What You’ll Do
- Digital Asset Strategy & Capital Planning: Lead the strategic development and execution of Walmart Canada's building asset digitization. Manage the capital planning, execution, and tracking of large-scale building management upgrades, including transitioning legacy, end-of-life store controllers to modern, scalable technologies.
- Engineering & BAS Design Standards: Own and evolve Building Automation System (BAS) design and installation guidelines for Canadian retail facilities. Standardize controller points, communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.), and network architectures to ensure secure, reliable data flow.
- IoT & Telemetry Innovation: Strategically transition controls from legacy hardware to software-defined platforms, enabling scalable remote diagnostics, advanced telemetry, and AI-driven predictive maintenance. Pilot and scale next-generation energy management and automation solutions.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Partner closely with Global Tech, Construction, Facilities Maintenance, Energy Teams, and Procurement to maximize equipment uptime, resolve active installation gaps, and drive down the total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Governance & IT/OT Security: Enforce Walmart's information security and network architecture policies across the building automation and operational technology (OT) environment to safeguard physical and digital infrastructure.
- Vendor & SLA Performance: Manage strategic relationships with control vendors, equipment manufacturers, and contractors. Track key performance indicators (KPIs), negotiate service level agreements (SLAs), and serve as the technical escalation point for critical automation failures.
What You’ll Bring
- BAS & Controls Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting controls in a large-scale, multi-vendor environment.
- Standards & Specifications Development: Proven track record of authoring, maintaining, and enforcing enterprise-level engineering standards, construction specifications, and design guidelines.
- Digital Transformation Leadership: Experience leading large-scale technology upgrades, prototype pilots, and hardware-to-software migrations in a commercial retail or multi-site facilities context.
- IT/OT Security Alignment: Practical understanding of securing operational technology (OT), managing network protocols, and aligning hardware deployments with strict corporate cybersecurity policies.
- Vendor & Project Management: Exceptional skills in managing vendors, tracking SLAs, and coordinating complex timelines across multiple concurrent projects.
- Collaborative Communication: Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to translate complex technical specifications for business executives, engineering partners, and field technicians alike.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
