Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Renewable Energy - APMEA

Job Purpose/Overview

In order to lead the regional renewable energy sourcing portfolio for MGS Commercial, and provide the critical support to the business to achieving our sustainability and NetZero commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• This Associate will be expected to focus primarily on the APAC region, managing the entire portfolio of projects in that region – with an emphasis on the offsite and onsite projects (including for example solar PV, Biomass, Biogas, and Concentrated Solar Thermal). 

• Working in partnership with the Global RE Category director and other functional stakeholders, take the Commercial lead on onsite projects (notably RE Thermal) across the region – including both supplier engagement and internal/site team members to see projects through from origination to contract execution, alongside ongoing SRM and contract performance management.

• Lead/support on individual projects in other regions as practical (e.g. – APAC), to provide project management, technical leadership and expertise, and Commercial negotiation and SRM.

• Co-lead and support on large, national scale offsite RE projects alongside the Global RE Category director to ensure the delivery of critical, high priority GHG reduction projects

• Be the direct relationship manager with key internal stakeholders for the respective region(s), primarily Asia, acting as the liaison with global Commercial Associates and other x-functional roles at Mars

Context and Scope

• As a Senior Manager of Renewable Energy at Mars, you will partner to drive development & implementation of RE sourcing strategies, project(s) development, deal structuring and negotiation, market participant and supplier engagement and broad internal stakeholder management.

• This role will be responsible for overseeing and leading the APAC regional category portfolio for the Commercial function, including leading market sourcing events (RFPs, etc.), supplier engagement and relationship management, commercial negotiations and contracting execution, and ongoing project and contract performance management.

• You will partner closely with cross functional stakeholders within Mars to achieve our ambitious NetZero targets and interim renewable energy targets (100% by 2040). You'll be deeply engaged in regional RE communities, ensuring Mars maintains a best in class sourcing posture and innovative approach to sourcing renewables.

Job Specifications/Qualifications

• MBA, Engineering, Economics, or Equivalent Degree

Knowledge / Experience

• 10+ years in either renewable energy sourcing, project development and finance, renewable energy markets.  APAC regional experience is required.  Preference for experience working directly in Corporate renewable energy sourcing.  Deep knowledge required on structuring renewable energy purchase agreements, project development including
