From our office in Ghent, weu2019re looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer - IAM & Keycloak who combines strong backend engineering skills with hands-on experience in Identity & Access Management and application security.

Youu2019ll help evolve the IAM foundation of the Miles platform while continuing to build and improve secure, scalable Java backend components used across our international product ecosystem.

What youu2019ll do...

n

n
• Design, build and maintain Java backend services and platform components supporting authentication, authorization and identity management across the Miles ecosystem.
n
• Integrate and customise Keycloak and implement secure identity flows using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML.
n
• Design secure integrations between microservices, applications and customer environments, with a strong focus on authentication, authorization and access control.
n
• Act as a senior technical contributor in IAM and security discussions, translating business and security requirements into robust backend solutions.
n
• Work closely with engineers, Product Owners and customers to improve our IAM architecture, engineering standards and security practices.

What you bring...

n

n
• Strong senior-level Java backend engineering experience, including enterprise applications, microservices and modern Java frameworks.
n
• Hands-on experience with Keycloak or a comparable IAM platform, combined with solid knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML.
n
• Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, access control and secure service-to-service communication.
n
• Experience designing and integrating backend services in distributed or microservices-based architectures, including REST APIs and relational databases.
n
• Experience with, or a genuine interest in, AI-assisted software engineering. At SOFICO, we actively encourage engineers to use AI tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot throughout the product and software development lifecycle - from specification and planning to implementation, testing and continuous improvement - and weu2019re looking for someone eager to grow that practice with us.

• Experience with SSO, identity federation, MFA, provisioning or user lifecycle management.

• Experience securing APIs and microservices using technologies such as JWT, OAuth scopes, roles, permissions or policy-based access control.
