About this role
Steel Work Supervision: Supervise structural steel repairs, including welding, fabrication, and modifications on RoRo vessels, container vessels, and bulk carriers, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.
Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, corrective actions, and upgrades on equipment, including RoRo ramps, doors, and hatches.
Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of steel structures and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Project Management: Lead and manage subcontractors during larger steel repair projects, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.
Customer Support: Establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers, providing technical support and feedback to the relevant teams.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards and site-specific safety protocols.
Requirements
Education :
- Diploma in Marine Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification in mechanical, marine, or steel fabrication fields.
- Engineering graduates are encouraged to apply
Experience :
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervising steelwork, particularly with RoRo/Hatch Cover systems or in marine environments.
- Strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, and steel structures is essential.
- Experience working in ports, onboard ships, and offshore environments is preferred.
Competencies :
- Proficient in welding and steel fabrication techniques, with supervisory experience.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to lead teams and manage projects independently.
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
