Required Educational Background and Work Experience

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Work Experience: 4-12 Years of Work Experience in the related field.

Critical Tasks

1.     Strategy

a)     Define mechanical reliability strategies across CRM functions, ensuring alignment with annual maintenance plans, production schedules, and business objectives

b)     Review chronic equipment failures and historical data trends to prioritize overhaul, redesign, or replacement initiatives

c)     Establish plant-wide preventive and predictive maintenance protocols to reduce unscheduled downtime and extend equipment life

2.     Execution

a)     Ensure timely execution of maintenance schedules and shutdown plans across CRM with minimal production disruption

b)     Allocate and monitor optimal utilization of workforce, tools, and spares by working with Area Incharges and Planners

c)     Review progress and completion of maintenance activities, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely escalations

d)     Lead analysis and resolution efforts of high impact breakdowns, ensuring root causes are closed with robust long-term corrective actions

3.     Governance

a)     Ensure compliance with mechanical maintenance SOPs, statutory safety regulations, and internal quality benchmarks across CRM through structured audits

b)     Validate implementation of cross-functional improvement actions arising from failure reports, HIRA reviews, and internal audits

4.     People

a)     Mentor and develop Area Incharges and planners, focusing on skill-building, performance ownership, and grooming for higher responsibilities

b)     Ensure coordination of mechanical manpower planning across shifts and units, resolving conflicts and ensuring consistent practices and team morale

5.     Technology

a)     Monitor equipment performance using SAP and condition-monitoring tools, interpreting data to drive improvements.

b)     Support implementation of new technologies and digital tools to enhance maintenance effectiveness and reduce unplanned downtime.

Purpose - Why does this role exist?

·       Lead strategic planning and reliability initiatives for all mechanical assets across the CRM department

·       Oversee execution of preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance plans to ensure minimal production disruption

·       Ensure compliance with safety standards, audit readiness, and continual improvement of maintenance SOPs across CRM

·       Drive adoption and integration of predictive maintenance technologies and data-driven tools
