SITE MANAGER

Location: Wessex

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

We're looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee vegetation management works across the railway network, mainly on Network Rail infrastructure.

This is a hybrid role, combining on-site supervision with remote project management, planning and reporting. You'll lead site teams, work closely with Network Rail representatives and subcontractors, and make sure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You'll need to be flexible around project and safety requirements, including occasional night and weekend work.

What you'll do

• Manage and coordinate vegetation clearance works across Network Rail infrastructure.

• Lead and support site teams to deliver works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

• Prepare and review RAMS, site briefings and Work Package Plans.

• Carry out site inductions, inspections and audits.

• Attend site meetings with clients and Network Rail representatives.

• Liaise with Network Rail, subcontractors and internal teams.

• Complete site reporting, documentation and close-out paperwork.

• Monitor health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

• Support planning, resource allocation and procurement for upcoming works.

• Identify and resolve issues on site.

• Provide clear communication between field teams and office/project teams.

What we're looking for

• Proven Site Manager experience, ideally within rail.

• Experience or strong knowledge of vegetation management and environmental considerations.

• PTS certification.

• Strong understanding of HSE and CDM requirements.

• Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS, method statements and site reports.

• Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills.

• Confident working with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

• Good Microsoft Office and project management skills.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites.

• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends when project requirements demand it.

Desirable:

• COSS.

• SMSTS or equivalent.

• Network Rail systems experience, including Sentinel and NR forms/reporting.

• First Aid.

• Environmental or Arboricultural qualifications.
