About this role

The Site Superintendent will provide strong field leadership on a major industrial construction project within an active mine environment. The project involves a significant brownfield expansion of an operating gold processing facility, including the construction of a new standalone processing facility.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple crews and work fronts, providing leadership and coordination to ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedule, quality, productivity, and cost requirements. The project team is currently approximately 30 personnel and will continue to grow significantly as construction activities ramp up.

The construction scope is focused on concrete and associated civil works throughout the process plant, requiring strong experience with construction sequencing, manpower, equipment, materials, engineering coordination, and concrete pours.

Location: Active Mine Site near Prince George, BC

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong day-to-day field leadership across multiple crews and work fronts.
  • Coordinate construction activities and sequencing throughout the process plant.
  • Manage and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and engineering requirements.
  • Oversee concrete and associated civil construction activities, including foundations, slabs, walls, equipment foundations, structural concrete, and detailed earthworks.
  • Coordinate reinforcing steel, formwork, embedded items, anchor bolts, liners, drainage, electrical conduit, and mechanical piping associated with concrete works.
  • Plan and coordinate concrete pours to ensure resources, materials, equipment, and personnel are properly aligned.
  • Monitor construction progress, productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, engineering teams, contractors, and field personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Identify field issues and coordinate solutions to maintain project progress.
  • Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Conduct ongoing field planning and coordination as the project team and construction activities continue to expand.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices are maintained across all work fronts.

Salary: $125,000–$160,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Wages are negotiable. Subcontractor opportunities are also available.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a Site Superintendent or similar senior field leadership role, preferably within the mining, civil, concrete, or heavy industrial construction industries.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering major concrete, civil, mining, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong experience leading multiple crews across large, multi-area construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, manpower planning, productivity, quality, schedule, and cost control.
  • Experience coordinating concrete pours and associated construction activities.
  • Experience working within an active mine or heavy industrial environment is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams, contractors, engineering teams, and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and competing project requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be willing and able to work a rotational schedule in a camp-based environment.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
