Job Description

Fidelis Integrated Solutions, Inc. (FIS) is seeking a full-time Small Arms Instructor Lead to support Naval Construction Group small-arms and crew-served-weapons training in Port Hueneme, CA. The selected candidate will provide classroom, synthetic, and live-fire instruction under applicable Navy and NECC standards. Employment is contingent upon contract award, funding, final Government requirements, and Government approval of proposed personnel.

·Analyze Government-provided information and prepare curriculum-change recommendations for Government review.

·Direct instructor updates to lessons, lesson plans, task scenarios, courses of fire, training plans, and associated instructional materials.

·Submit proposed curriculum changes for Government review and approval before implementation.

·Oversee the site small-arms program, develop contractor instructors, maintain instructional standardization, and prepare qualification-ready shooters.

·Deliver dynamic small-arms and crew-served-weapons instruction under COMNECC 3591-series training and qualification standards.

·Support Rifle CAT II, Pistol CAT II, Line Coach, Shotgun, M-203-LAB, CSW-LAB, and other Government-directed weapons training.

·Instruct service-pistol, service-rifle, and crew-served-weapons employment, including the M2, M203, M9, M18, M11, M4, and M16.

·Teach weapons safety, fundamentals, basic rifle marksmanship, battlesight zero, known- and unknown-distance firing to 300 meters, and qualification.

·Teach intermediate shooter mechanics, shooting on the move, barricade and cover employment, and practical individual- and unit-level skills.

·Conduct instruction and qualification support in classroom, synthetic, and live-fire environments.

·Serve as a line coach and practical safety observer for Government-directed CIN, non-CIN, ULT, and ULTRA training events.

·Support approved changes to weapons, CINs, CDPs, and related training requirements within the position's assigned scope.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Qualifications)

·Be a U.S. citizen.

·Be formally trained as a small-arms instructor through a military Service or a Federal-agency-recognized small-arms instructor course.

·Be qualified in rifle and pistol and possess the instructional skill and technical proficiency required for assigned courses.

·Graduate from the Navy Instructor Training Course (NEC 9502) or a CPPD-evaluated and certified Joint/Navy Instructor Training equivalent.

·Graduate from SAMI, Blackwater, MidSouth Shooting Institute, Gryphon, SFAUC, MCAUC, or an equivalent small-arms weapons training course.

·Possess at least three years of Armed Forces, law-enforcement SWAT, or former active-duty experience involving enhanced shooting techniques.

·Possess at least one year of instructional experience supported by a DD Form 214, course certificates, or equivalent records.

·Possess technical knowledge of the Navy Service Pistol and Navy Service Rifle.

·Meet Navy High-Risk Training requirements under OPNAVINST 1500.75 series, including required medical and psychological screening.

·Maintain current CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), and First Aid certifications.

·Complete required command and course indoctrination, safety and equipment familiarization, instructional-material preparation, and applicable knowledge and performance testing.

·Be familiar with instructional procedures, curriculum, training aids, devices, and the operation and maintenance of equipment supporting assigned courses.

·Complete applicable courses-of-fire requalification under OPNAVINST 3591.1G within 180 days.

·Communicate clearly in written and spoken English and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·Perform moderate physical activity in indoor and outdoor training environments and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

·Obtain and maintain required installation, Common Access Card, and Secret-level security eligibility or access.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Qualifications)

·Relevant military instructor backgrounds may include formal-school, combat-skills, marksmanship, small-arms, special-operations, or comparable weapons-instructor assignments. All credentials remain subject to final solicitation requirements and Government approval.

·Military-service curriculum-development training and experience applying ADDIE, SATE, or comparable instructional-development methods are strongly desired.

·Six years of Armed Forces, law-enforcement SWAT, or former active-duty experience involving enhanced shooting techniques.

·Three years of instructional experience.

·Honorable active-duty military experience within the preceding five years.

·Technical knowledge of the M240, M2 .50 caliber machine gun, and M500 shotgun.

Additional Information

Schedule and Travel

• Normal hours are anticipated as 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.
• Mission requirements may include evenings, weekends, Reserve drill periods, and field-training exercises.
• Travel may include Mobile Training Team support, U.S. territories such as Guam, and approved cross-site standardization activities.
• Travel frequency is not anticipated to exceed once per quarter, subject to final Government requirements.
