What you'll do

  • Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans, ensuring accurate records and documentation are maintained.
  • Promote the rights, safety and overall physical, emotional and social welfare of children and young people in care.
  • Support young people with education, training, healthcare, appointments and personal development, while liaising with families and external agencies.
  • Attend and contribute to care planning, case management, strategy and other professional meetings, preparing reports and maintaining high-quality records.
  • Provide day-to-day care and support, including age-appropriate activities, positive engagement and physical intervention where required and in line with policy.
  • Support household management, including meal preparation, budgeting, cleaning and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.
  • Complete accurate written and verbal reports, including progress updates and incident reporting, and ensure appropriate communication with the Centre Manager.
  • Supervise Social Care/Residential Care Workers and students where required, providing guidance and support as directed by management.
  • Take responsibility for decision-making while on shift, including overall responsibility for the residential centre in the absence of senior management, and provide Deputy Manager cover when required.
  • Maintain compliance with legislation, childcare best practice, organisational policies, emergency procedures and professional development requirements, including participation in the centre's on-call rota.

Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Adult/ Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s ABC team, based in location We are seeking committed and compassionate Social Care Leaders to support young people living in a residential care setting. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes safety, stability, emotional wellbeing, and positive life outcomes. You will contribute to creating a nurturing environment and play a key role in helping young people thrive.

  • Annual 3% increase on salary

Qualifications and Experience: 

To be successful in this role you must have;  

  • QQI Level 7 in Social Care (or equivalent) 
  • 3 years’ experience working in Children’s Residential Centres.
  • A full, clean drivers’ licence, valid in Ireland
  • Knowledge of the National Standards in Children’s Residential Centres and Children’s First.
