What you'll do

  • Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans, ensuring accurate and timely records are maintained.
  • Promote the rights, responsibilities and overall physical, emotional, social and religious welfare of each young person.
  • Support young people with education, training, medical appointments and other personal development needs.
  • Manage young people’s personal documentation, finances and arrangements, while liaising with families, parents and external agencies.
  • Build positive relationships through age-appropriate activities, play and day-to-day support, including physical intervention where required and in line with policy.
  • Prepare nutritious meals with young people and support household management, including budgeting, cleaning and general upkeep.
  • Maintain accurate written and verbal records, including progress reports and documentation of incidents.
  • Attend team meetings and supervision, communicate effectively with management and work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through training and development, keeping up to date with relevant legislation, childcare practice and organisational policies.
  • Comply with health and safety requirements, emergency procedures, relevant regulations and sustainable working practices.

Our client in Bailieborough, Co. Cavan is seeking committed and compassionate Social Care Workers to support young people living in a residential care setting. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes safety, stability, emotional wellbeing, and positive life outcomes. You will contribute to creating a nurturing environment and play a key role in helping young people thrive.

Role Description

Salary & Benefits

  • €38,000 - €44,000
  • Annual 3% increase on salary
  • Training provided
  • Pay more than standard pension
