What you'll do
- Provision of social work services to inpatients, outpatients, and their families in The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital
- Cover weekends and holidays
- Perform psychosocial assessments, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, financial counseling, discharge planning, health education and the provision of material resources and linkage with community agencies
- Provide services to patients/families to meet their medically related social and emotional needs as they impact on their medical condition, treatment, recovery, and safe transition from one care environment to another
- Apply core competencies including psychosocial assessment, counseling and crisis intervention skills
- Utilize knowledge of the PASAAR process for extended care facility placement and the assessment and counseling processes involved
- Apply knowledge of home healthcare set-up process and skills assessing neglect/abuse, including substance abuse and domestic violence

Position Summary
