About this role

Speech Pathologist | Make Your Mark in a Growing Private Practice

If you're a Speech Pathologist who wants more than just a caseload and a calendar full of appointments, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

I’m currently working with a well-established private practice in Brisbane’s northern Suburbs that is looking to welcome another Speech Pathologist to their team. They have built a strong reputation in the local community and are now growing their clinical team.

What I particularly like about this opportunity is the flexibility around the type of work you want to do. Whether you love working with children, prefer an adult caseload, or enjoy a combination of both, the practice is happy to shape the role around your strengths and interests.

A role designed around you

Rather than putting you into a predetermined caseload, the team will take the time to understand:

  • Which age groups you enjoy working with
  • Your clinical interests and areas of expertise
  • The types of presentations you would like to develop further
  • Your preferred working hours and days
  • Where you'd like your career to head

Your day could include everything from paediatric language and speech therapy through to adult communication and swallowing, depending on what you're looking for.

What you'll be doing

You'll work closely with clients, families and other professionals to provide thoughtful, evidence-based assessment and intervention.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments
  • Developing individualised therapy programs
  • Delivering engaging one-on-one and/or group therapy
  • Supporting families and carers with practical strategies
  • Collaborating with schools, healthcare professionals and other support networks
  • Completing clinical documentation and reports
  • Building your own clinical expertise within areas that genuinely interest you

The practice

This is a genuine private practice environment where clinicians are valued for their expertise and supported to do their best work.

You'll be joining a friendly and collaborative team where there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share ideas and learn from experienced clinicians. The practice is continuing to grow, so there is also scope for someone who wants to take on additional responsibilities or develop into a more senior role over time.

What we're looking for

We're open to speaking with Speech Pathologists at different stages of their careers.

You'll ideally have:

  • A recognised Speech Pathology qualification
  • Eligibility for or current Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) membership
  • Strong clinical and communication skills
  • A client-centred approach to therapy
  • The ability to work independently while enjoying being part of a team
  • Australian working rights

New graduates with strong clinical placements are welcome to apply, as well as experienced clinicians looking for a fresh opportunity.

What you'll receive

  • Full-time or part-time flexibility
  • A caseload aligned with your clinical interests
  • Supportive and experienced colleagues
  • Regular clinical supervision and mentoring
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A welcoming and established practice environment
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience
  • Excellent work-life balance
  • Convenient Northern Brisbane location with quick access to the city
