Job Title:                           Speech Therapist

                                           (10 month full-time position)

Sign On Bonus:            $2,500.00

 

Requirements:

 

A. Educational Level:               

            1.         Master’s Degree in Education; holds a

Postgraduate Professional License with an Endorsement in speech language pathology (Speech Disorders K-12)

                    2. Demonstrate ability to communicate in clear, concise  

                        manner with others.

B. Physical Requirements:            

       1. Demonstrate overall good health.

 

REPORTS TO:                          Director of Pupil Personnel

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

 

1. Assists in child find activities such as 60-day screenings;

1. Observes and evaluates students after referral by the school’s child study or IEP committee to determine if services are needed in the educational setting;

1. Completes evaluations within required time frame, determines educational implications of evaluation findings and provides  a written/oral report to school child study committee and parents;

1. Participates in the development of IEP’s for those students identified as Speech Language Impaired (SLI), provides services in accordance with the IEP’s of those students who are identified as SLI or those students receiving speech as a related service;

1. Participates in necessary meetings for SLI students (IEP, Eligibility, Triennial, etc.), reports progress as determined by the student’s IEP.

1. Serves as a member of the Child Study Committee when appropriate, manages caseload in accordance with county procedures, recommends appropriate service delivery options and complies with local/state/federal policies and procedures;

1. Develops Service Plans when necessary, alerts appropriate personnel of any IEP modifications and/or accommodations;

1. Attends required in-service and/or staff development, pursues professional development, and maintains appropriate licensure;

1. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
