  • Build and maintain loan files in Prism, our loan origination system, ensuring lenders, underwriters, and credit partners have complete and organized information to support lending decisions.
  • Upload, review, organize, and maintain loan documentation from ShareFile and other internal platforms.

  • Create and maintain checklists of missing documents and track outstanding items to help keep transactions moving forward.
  • Assist with financial spreading, debt schedules, cash flow analysis, and sources and uses preparation.
  • Conduct industry, company, and market research on prospective and existing borrowers.
  • Support portfolio management, reporting, and administrative activities across multiple lending teams.
  • Partner with lenders and credit teams to complete preparatory work that helps transactions move efficiently through the lending process.
  • Assist with presentations, reports, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness, including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC requirements.

We're looking for an onsite intern to join our team starting in January 2027 at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. This position will average 10 hours per week during the spring semester, with the potential to extend into Summer 2027 with increased hours. How This Role Impacts Live Oak and Its People

As an SBB Lending Support Intern, you'll support lending teams serving a variety of industries, helping move transactions forward and deliver an exceptional experience for borrowers. 

Your work will help lenders, underwriters, and credit partners stay organized, make informed decisions, and spend more time supporting customers. Every file you build, document you review, and project you support helps a small business owner move one step closer to achieving their goals. 

This internship offers hands-on exposure to small business lending, credit analysis, portfolio management, and relationship-focused client service while working alongside experienced banking professionals. 

What You'll Do at Live Oak

Required Experience

The base pay range for this position is $19.77 - $32.12 per hour. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
