Job Description:

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other.  We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Job Summary:

Provides leadership operations, business planning, and decision support for the Vice President, Physical AI Platforms & Construction Autonomy and associated leadership teams.

The incumbent serves as the operational integrator for the organization—enabling effective leadership execution through business planning, performance management, leadership operating cadence, executive decision support, and cross-functional coordination.

This role partners closely with the Chief of Staff to translate strategic priorities into coordinated action while providing leaders with the visibility, structure, and processes needed to execute effectively. The position complements formal Product and Portfolio Management functions by focusing on organizational effectiveness, business operations, executive readiness, and leadership-level execution support rather than direct ownership of program delivery.

The incumbent must be capable of operating in a dynamic environment characterized by ambiguity, rapid growth, and cross-functional dependencies while influencing outcomes through collaboration and business leadership.

What You Will Do:

  • Support leadership team operating rhythms, including staff meetings, planning sessions, business reviews, workshops, and offsites.

  • Drive execution of organizational priorities through structured planning, coordination, and accountability management.

  • Monitor organizational performance and execution, identifying risks, dependencies, barriers, and opportunities requiring leadership attention.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to operating processes, governance mechanisms, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Support annual business planning, workforce planning, budget coordination, and portfolio planning activities.

  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks that provide actionable business insights.

  • Consolidate operational, financial, portfolio, and resource data to support data-driven leadership decision-making.

  • Coordinate planning, reporting, and execution activities across Finance, HR, Product Management, Engineering, PMO, and business stakeholders.

  • Partner with Product Management, Program Management, and PMO teams to provide visibility into portfolio health, priorities, and execution status.

  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives, special projects, and emerging programs from concept through implementation and operationalization.

  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and resolution of complex organizational issues to accelerate execution and achieve desired business outcomes.

What You Will Have:

  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
