What to expect during your internship:

Javelin’s Internship offers a 6-week programme where our interns get to experience what it is like to work at one of the world’s leading commodity businesses.

Induction weeks

In your first 2 weeks you will be fully inducted into to the business. You will have small group sessions covering each department to give you full oversight of how the business runs, alongside team building sessions with your fellow interns to build camaraderie. You will be partnered with a mentor for the entirety of your time at Javelin. This will be an industry expert who will guide you and fast track your learning experience so you can maximise your time in the firm.

Project

Over the following four weeks, you will take ownership of a project that directly supports the wider business and aligns with Javelin's strategic objectives. Working closely with your mentor, you will apply the knowledge and insights gained throughout the programme to develop your solution, build your recommendations, and deliver tangible outcomes. This hands-on experience will give you the opportunity to tackle real business challenges, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain a genuine understanding of the commodity trading industry. At the end of the internship, you will present your project and key learnings to the wider business, including members of the senior management team, including the CEO, showcasing the impact of your work and the value it can bring to Javelin.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree in a STEM field, preferably Computer Science

Interview Process:

The interview process will comprise of 3 stages:

  • Interview with HR – This will be comprised of cultural questions to determine if you hold the Javelin value
  • Technical Interviews – You will then meet with Javelin software developers to assess your technical ability
