Job Description:

What’s the role

The Process Excellence Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organization’s tax and finance transformation agenda. With overall responsibility for delivery, process design, controls, and the Direct Tax digital/automation journey, this role is instrumental in advancing a ‘Tax nirvana’ vision—one where automated, robust, and optimized processes underpin strategic outcomes. The incumbent will champion the integration of technology, drive end-to-end automation, and ensure tax technical rigor, collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the Process design, documentation, and continuous enhancement of end-to-end tax processes, ensuring alignment with best practice and regulatory requirements

  • Design, develop, implement, and monitor robust Finance controls (alignment with Future of Controls), focusing on risk mitigation and process integrity throughout the tax lifecycle

  • Champion standardization and simplification initiatives to support operational excellence and audit readiness

  • Provide expert insights into direct tax Process automation, with a focus on leveraging automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency

  • Act as Subject Matter expertise (leveraging tax technical insights) to lead/drive automation agenda/projects for Tax

  • Stay abreast of evolving tax legislation and digital trends, ensuring the organization’s automation journey is tax-compliant, future-ready, and strategically aligned

  • Drive the adoption of digital tools, intelligent automation, and AI technologies across tax function

  • Lead the MDT digital transformation roadmap, identifying opportunities for process digitization and efficiency gains

  • Foster a culture of digital innovation, upskilling teams and embedding a data-driven, technology-first mindset

  • Assume accountability for the seamless delivery of tax transformation projects, ensuring milestones are met and benefits realized

  • Promote a continuous improvement culture, encouraging the generation and execution of innovative ideas to optimize processes and controls.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address pain points, implement best practices, and support the organization’s digital ambitions.

What you bring

  • 12+ years Industry experience in Finance / Tax role. Experience on Process excellence, Digital and Transformation projects will be an added advantage

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Chartered Accountant is a prerequisite

  • Proven track record in leading complex Finance processes including large-scale projects

  • Expertise in ERP systems, external tax tools & AI enabled technology

  • Direct Tax- Corporate Tax experience

  • Strong understanding of international tax compliance and reporting.

  • Hands-on experience across Finance and Tax, with demonstrable tax technical expertise and automation exposure

  • Proven ability to design and implement process controls, leveraging digital and automation solutions

  • Digitally savvy, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to learn new technologies rapidly

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, strategic and critical thinking abilities

  • Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and adaptability to work across organisational boundaries

  • Results-driven, with a passion for process excellence and digital transformation

  • Has proficient knowledge of applicable tax regulations to conduct and present analyses of data to support organizational and management reviews, strategy assessment, tactics and policies

  • Is able to effectively communicate information to managers or less experienced staff, shares knowledge effectively within the work team and customizes reports, variance explanations, and presentations to the interests of the audience

  • May be a manager or supervisor of skilled employees; Oversees routine tax activities such as tax return filing, data collection, research, and compliance.

  • As an Individual Contributor, works under broad guidance and supervision by Manager for complex activities

  • Establishes short term operational decisions typically within a one-year time frame
