What you'll do
- Removing and installing existing self-contained single phase on-demand Meters in customer field facilities as a one-person crew only after receiving the single phase, self-contained meter portion of the Meterman B Training Program.
- Operating in a safe manner at all times in accordance with all safety rules and have excellent safe driving record.
- Read watt-hour meter registers and distinguish the different types of meters and type code.
- Assisting Meter Electrician “A” or “B” as part of the crew make-up for ladder runs and CT cable pulls and multiple meter sets of more than four (4) meters.
- Work in the direct sunlight, climb ladders and do all other assigned tasks.
- Travel, support storm events and work extended hours.
- Performs unskilled work and assists skilled employees.
- Functions in support of other classifications and their respective accountability.
- Performs associated responsibilities according to the rules contained in the safe work practices handbook and the Memorandum of Agreement.

Position Specific Description
Florida Power & Light Company’s Customer Service Business Unit is seeking a Helper to join their team. This position is responsible for removing and installing existing self-contained single phase on-demand Meters in customer field facilities as a one-person crew only after receiving the single phase, self-contained meter portion of the Meterman B Training Program. The successful candidates’ responsibilities will also include: • Operating in a safe manner at all times in accordance with all safety rules and have excellent safe driving record. • Must be able to read watt-hour meter registers and distinguish the different types of meters and type code. • Assisting Meter Electrician “A” or “B” as part of the crew make-up for ladder runs and CT cable pulls and multiple meter sets of more than four (4) meters. • Must be able to work in the direct sunlight, climb ladders and do all other assigned tasks. • Must be willing to travel, support storm events and work extended hours. **Employees hired through this MOU will be required to stay within the Customer Service Business Unit for nine months from hired date** Work Schedule Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with extended hours as necessary.
