What you'll do

  • Digital Forensics Unit: This unit includes supporting management of Scotiabank in ensuring the security and safety of the Bank’s staff, customers, reputation, physical and financial assets by providing value-added and cost effective consultative, investigative and program management services to mitigate the risks arising from internal and external threats
  • Security Operations Centre: This unit provides 24/7 critical incident management support and is responsible for the response to physical security related incidents that may endanger staff/customers and/or Bank facilities, impact operations or pose reputational risk.
  • I3 – Intelligence, Insider, and Insights: This unit seeks to detect, deter, and mitigate the risks associated with trusted insiders and protect the privacy of the Bank and its customers while reducing potential harm to the organization.
  • Judicial Documents Services: This unit collaborates with third party requests for information and complies with court orders, production orders, Canada Revenue Agency requests, Public Guardian, and Trustee requests and many more!

Some areas of Corporate Security that you could be working under, include:  

    

Investigations: Support Corporate Security investigations and governance activities through data analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities may include contributing to enhanced monitoring programs, managing and analyzing security-related data, supporting regulatory and law enforcement information requests, assisting with policy and standards updates, and helping digitize manual processes using Microsoft 365 tools. Students will gain exposure to investigations, risk management, governance, and operational reporting within a complex security environment.

Physical Security: Support Physical Security teams through data-driven initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and situational awareness. Responsibilities may include analyzing security data, developing dashboards and automated reporting solutions, monitoring incidents, conducting research, and assisting with threat detection and risk management activities. Students will work closely with security operations professionals and gain hands-on exposure to critical incident management, security technologies, and physical security operations.

Intelligence: Support intelligence and security programs through the use of geospatial analysis, data visualization, and reporting. Responsibilities may include developing maps and dashboards, managing and analyzing data, conducting spatial analysis, and producing intelligence reports that help protect the Bank's people, assets, and operations. Students will gain practical experience applying GIS tools and analytical techniques to real-world security challenges.
