This position is ideal for a GP vet seeking autonomy, consistency and strong regional clinical support while becoming the trusted local vet for a loyal client base.

Full Time or Part Time | 4-Day Week | Permanent | Sole Charge

Key Details

• Role: Veterinary Surgeon

• Location: Ickenham, Uxbridge, Middlesex (UB10)

• Hours: Full time or part time considered

• Working Pattern: 4-day week (Wednesdays off)

• Weekend Rota: 1 in 3 branch Saturdays and 1 in 8 hospital Sundays

• Bank Holidays: Up to 2 per year

• OOH: None

• Contract: Permanent

The Role

• Sole charge GP position with full clinical autonomy

• Balanced daily structure allowing time for consultations, routine surgery and admin

• Opportunity to settle long term as the "go-to” local vet

• Flexible options available including part-time or split-site working across nearby practices

• Ideal for a vet with a few years' experience looking for stability and continuity

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Carry out consultations and thorough clinical examinations

• Make evidence-based diagnostic and treatment recommendations

• Perform routine GP surgeries within personal competence

• Prescribe and dispense medications in line with current legislation and RCVS guidance

• Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records

• Triage and refer cases appropriately to hospital facilities when required

• Work collaboratively with nursing colleagues to maintain SOPs and branch standards

• Oversee consulting and surgical diary management

• Contribute to a respectful, collaborative team environment

Clinical Support

• 24-hour hospital support located nearby for complex referrals and overnight care

• Advanced diagnostics available including CT, ultrasound and specialist imaging support

• Access to experienced surgeons for advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue and minimally invasive procedures

• Approximately 10 minutes from the M25

Salary & Benefits

• £60,000 to £65,000 FTE inclusive of weekend rota, depending on experience

• 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

• CPD allowance up to £2,000 per year plus up to 5 paid CPD days

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
