Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

About the Role

This permanent full-time position is based at St George's Vets' Fallings Park site in Wolverhampton, with the potential to work one day per week at the main Wolverhampton Hospital. The role offers genuine flexibility to shape your working pattern around your lifestyle, whether that means managing school holidays, school runs, or simply achieving better work-life balance. A typical full-time week is 40 hours across four weekdays with a shared Saturday rota, and there is no out-of-hours or on-call requirement.

You'll work with a high-calibre clinical team including certificate holders and advanced practitioners, supported by skilled nursing staff and dedicated support teams. The practice is exceptionally well-equipped with operating theatres, Idexx labs, ultrasound, dental X-ray, CT scanner, digital X-ray, digital microscope, endoscope, and laparoscopic kit. Located just 8 minutes from M54 Junction 1, the Fallings Park practice is easily accessible from Wolverhampton, Dudley, Stafford, and Telford, with Wolverhampton train station just 5 minutes away.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied small animal caseload
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team including veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff
• Continue developing clinical skills and interests in routine medical and surgical cases
• Share knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture
• Support the ongoing development of team members

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• Proactive approach to learning, openness to feedback and development
• Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
