About this role

We are searching for an attorney specializing in asset management to support BlackRock's institutional client businesses, which manage assets for institutional clients including public and private pension plans, defined contribution plans, foundations, endowments and family offices, among others. In this role, you will serve as a legal advisor to BlackRock’s retirement business, advising on a broad range of legal issues relating to BlackRock’s provision of investment management services.

You must be able to directly and proactively manage, coordinate, and advise across a wide variety of stakeholder teams, including legal, risk management, business and operations teams, on legal, regulatory, disclosure, and commercial matters.

Responsibilities 

Your responsibilities will include advising business partners on complex legal issues across multiple asset classes, investment strategies and client types and negotiating agreements that govern BlackRock’s asset management services for its institutional clients. You will provide legal advice and consultation with respect to a variety of investment vehicles including bank collective investment funds and separately managed accounts. 

This role requires initiative and accountability and you must possess excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills. You will be required to demonstrate comfortable command of applicable law, work creatively in a fast-paced environment, be consistently responsive, and confidently present complex issues to senior legal and business leaders.  

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, embraces innovation, and is interested in helping shape how emerging technologies can be used to transform legal service delivery. Experience identifying opportunities to improve processes that enable efficient and effective legal service delivery, knowledge management, contract negotiation, and risk analysis through the thoughtful application of AI and other technology solutions would be a plus. Candidates should also excel at coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and assisting the business in designing and implementing solutions across a range of products and services.

Required Qualifications

For Atlanta, GA Only the salary range for this position is USD$180,000.00 - USD$215,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
