What you'll do

  • Proactively prospect and build a self-sourced pipeline of mid-market brands, going well beyond inbound leads — outbound outreach, referrals, events, and your own network are the primary engine of this role.
  • Represent Jellyfish to potential clients through face-to-face meetings, calls, and email outreach, with a bias toward action and volume of activity.
  • Confidently engage decision-makers (CMO, VP Marketing, Head of Growth and equivalents) at mid-market brands and hold your own in early-stage conversations.
  • Qualify opportunities quickly, identify commercial fit, and prioritize a healthy, well-ranked pipeline of net-new logos.
  • Own the new-business sales cycle from first outreach through to signed contract, keeping deal velocity high and cycle times short relative to enterprise sales.
  • Represent Jellyfish at relevant industry and networking events to build a visible presence in the mid-market space and generate warm introductions.
  • Establish each prospect's business and commercial goals, and shape an integrated creative, media, and data solution that credibly addresses them.
  • Navigate initial conversations with prospects, articulate their problem statement clearly, and architect a proposed solution that draws on Jellyfish's full-service capability.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership — including the Managing Director, NA CEO, EVP Growth, CSO of Media, and MD Brandtech Data — alongside creative, media, data, and strategy specialists to shape solutions that draw on the breadth of Jellyfish and Brandtech's capabilities.
  • Lead the overall client opportunity and pitch process, bringing together the right internal team at the right stage and ensuring a clear, cohesive narrative from initial conversation through proposal and close.
  • Understand the commercial mechanics of agency operations across media, creative, and data & analytics, and use that fluency to build credible, well-scoped proposals.
  • Partner with commercial, finance, and legal teams to develop, manage, and negotiate proposals and contracts, maintaining ownership of the client relationship and momentum through to close.

What they're looking for

  • Demonstrated track record of new-business hunting and closing net-new clients, ideally within an agency, media, or martech environment.
  • Proven ability to build and manage a self-sourced pipeline, not solely reliant on inbound or partner-referred leads.
  • Strong proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms.
  • Comfortable presenting to and negotiating with senior stakeholders across a range of company sizes.
  • Familiarity with social media and market-insight tools to support prospecting and account research.

Job Description

As VP, Growth (Mid-Market), you are the hunter for Jellyfish's mid-market segment. This is an outward-facing, new-logo role: you will spend the majority of your time prospecting, networking, and running a disciplined outbound motion to build and convert a pipeline of mid-market brands that need integrated creative, media, and data solutions.

You'll retain the core disciplines of the broader Growth Capability — consultative solutioning, rigorous pipeline management, and accurate forecasting — but your mandate is weighted heavily toward opening doors and closing net-new accounts rather than managing a small number of large, existing strategic partnerships. You will work closely with creative, media, and data capability leads to shape compelling integrated pitches, and you will be accountable for hitting a net-new revenue growth target for the mid-market segment.

Mid-market opportunities will typically be defined by Jellyfish's agreed client segmentation criteria, based on factors such as potential annual revenue, scope complexity, and overall commercial opportunity.

Role Responsibilities

New Business & Hunting

Solution Development & Client Engagement

Pipeline, Systems & Reporting

  • Manage and track all prospecting activity, communications, and sales milestones in Salesforce, keeping data accurate and current.

  • Demonstrate measurable progress against pipeline and revenue goals, and take full accountability for proposals and agreements you own.

  • Use sales and market data to forecast opportunities, spot trends in the mid-market segment, and refine targeting over time.

Strategy & Collaboration

  • Partner with Growth Capability leadership to shape the go-to-market strategy for the mid-market segment, including target verticals and outbound tactics.

  • Collaborate closely with creative, media, and data capability leads to ensure integrated proposals are credible, differentiated, and deliverable.

  • Identify new opportunities and process improvements — tooling, outbound tactics, qualification criteria — that help the mid-market pod hit its targets more efficiently.

  • Mentor or support the development of more junior members of the Growth team.

  • Continuous sharing of learnings with all Growth team members.

Skills and Competencies

New-business orientation

  • A genuine hunter mentality — energized by prospecting, outbound outreach, and closing net-new logos rather than managing existing accounts.

  • Resilient and self-motivated, comfortable with a high volume of outreach and a healthy tolerance for rejection in service of pipeline goals.

Solution & offering knowledge

  • Working understanding of the creative, media, and data & analytics disciplines, and how they combine into an integrated agency offering.

  • Ability to translate a prospect's business problem into a credible, integrated solution and communicate it to non-specialist stakeholders.

  • Comfort with using AI in day to day deliverables as well as speaking to AI agency offerings

Commercial acumen

  • Strong commercial mindset, with comfort in pricing, contract negotiation, and revenue optimization for mid-market deal sizes.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and related sales-data tools to manage and forecast a fast-moving pipeline.

Collaboration & influence

  • Able to rally internal specialists (creative, media, data) quickly around a prospect's needs without formal authority over those teams.

  • Clear, confident communicator, able to present to founder/C-level stakeholders at mid-market companies.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of new-business hunting and closing net-new clients, ideally within an agency, media, or martech environment.

  • Proven ability to build and manage a self-sourced pipeline, not solely reliant on inbound or partner-referred leads.

  • Strong proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms.

  • Comfortable presenting to and negotiating with senior stakeholders across a range of company sizes.

  • Familiarity with social media and market-insight tools to support prospecting and account research.

Note: We emphasize skills, expertise, and behavioral attributes over years of experience and traditional degrees.
