At Fox Rent A Car, our Accounting Department distinguishes itself through a limitless mindset, partnering strategically with the business to deliver financial insights while pursuing efficiency and innovation in everything we do.

This Assistant Controller role puts you at the center of that mission, leading the close process across four operating subsidiaries and shaping how the numbers tell the real story of the business. You will mentor a team of five to six accounting professionals, partner across tax, treasury, and operations, and turn a fast-paced, evolving environment into your natural pace. If you bring that same limitless mindset- hands-on, detail-driven, and ready to own the close calendar from start to finish- this is where that mindset gets put to real use.

Your Primary Focus Is To:

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements for multiple business entities.

• Ensure accounting activities are compliant with GAAP and company reporting requirements.

• Manage, mentor, and develop an accounting team comprised of 5 to 6 team members.

• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Identify reporting discrepancies and recommend adjustments to improve accuracy and completeness.

• Monitor key financial and operational metrics and provide reporting to leadership.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting workflows and internal controls.

• Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.

• Partner with the tax team to support local sales and regulatory tax compliance.

• Assist with treasury and cash management activities, including banking relationships and daily cash operations.

• Provide support on special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies and Professional Qualities:

• Hands-on and detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Strong technical accounting background with a solid grasp of GAAP and multi-entity reporting.

• Effective people leader who can manage, mentor, and develop a team.

• High level of accuracy and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.

• Strong cross-functional collaborator across accounting, tax, treasury, and operations.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

• Certified Public Accountant a plus.

• Background in service, hospitality, or rental car industries is a plus.
