Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – Epworth at Home

Part Time (30 hours per week) | Maternity Leave Contract | Commencing October 2026

Full Time | Permanent 

Epworth at Home is seeking experienced Registered Nurses ready to step into a leadership role, or an established ANUM looking for a new challenge. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering exceptional patient-centred care in the home environment.

As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to support the operational management, clinical leadership and ongoing development of the service. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, timely and evidence-based care while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and excellence.

In this role, you will:

• Lead by example, setting and maintaining high clinical standards.
• Support and develop a high-performing, patient-focused nursing team.
• Coordinate safe, effective and efficient patient care across the Epworth at Home service.
• Collaborate with hospitals, specialists, GPs, rehabilitation services and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Assist in managing staffing, resources and operational performance.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and innovation in service delivery.
• Support the NUM in maintaining a safe and positive clinical environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Actively build strong relationships with medical staff and key stakeholders.
• Assume the responsibilities of the Nurse Unit Manager during periods of leave or absence.

Qualifications

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced acute care nurse with Hospital in the Home (HITH) experience who is looking to further develop their leadership capability. Experience in chemotherapy nursing will be highly regarded, given the complexity and diversity of patients supported through the Epworth at Home service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty area.
• Minimum 3-5 years' acute hospital nursing experience.
• Previous Hospital in the Home (HITH) experience is essential.
• Chemotherapy administration and patient management experience is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, either as an existing ANUM or as an experienced clinician ready to step into a leadership role.
• Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager and peers to support service delivery and team performance.
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and innovation in models of care.
• Strong organisational, clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and ACHS Accreditation Standards.

The annual salary for a full time Associate Nurse Unit Manager – AUD $120,595 - $124,661 + super + entitlements depending on registration type, year level and position (prorated for part-time)
