  • Own the commissioning process from start to finish - You'll lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's complete range of CDU, CRAC, CRAH, FWU & TWU units, delivering critical infrastructure that keeps the world's most important facilities running.
  • Work on landmark projects - Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks alongside experienced Vertiv Project & Commissioning Managers. If you've previously worked on Tier 1 Data Centre sites, you'll feel right at home here.
  • Broaden your expertise - This isn't a one-dimensional role. You'll also support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works, giving you exposure across the full asset lifecycle.
  • Be the face of Vertiv - Build trusted relationships with our customers through professional, solutions-focused interactions. Your feedback helps shape how we deliver for our clients.
  • Never stop growing - Access ongoing training across multiple Vertiv technologies, keeping your skills sharp and your career moving forward.

The Thermal Customer Engineer (Technician) – Commissioning is a highly specialised technical role within the APAC ANZ division, responsible for delivering end-to-end commissioning of precision cooling systems including Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC), Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH), Fan Wall Units (FWU), and Coolant Distribution Units (CDU). Reporting directly to the Service Operations Manager – Start Up Services, ANZ, this role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of mission critical Thermal Infrastructure across large-scale environments, including Tier 1 Data Centres.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Reporting:

  • Time Sheets - Digital reporting tool to be used to accurately record hours worked each day.

Daily Work Duties and expectations:

  • Travel to various sites, including remote locations, requiring a valid Driver's Licence.
  • Undertake overnight or extended travel as project demands require.
  • Working on and around Energised Electrical equipment, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
  • Safely work on live refrigerant lines and pressure vessels, in compliance with refrigerant handling regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Working and Heights (needs Work at Heights Training and refreshed every 5 years)
  • Operate within HVAC mechanical systems, demonstrating physical adaptability including working in awkward body positions as required by the equipment configuration.
  • Undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components in accordance with WHS guidelines (e.g Compressors, Gas Bottles etc.).

  • Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations
  • Actively champion a safety-first culture on all sites, leading by example and encouraging safe behaviours among colleagues and contractors.
