Executive Manager/Manager (Public Cleanliness Policy Section) – Contract

[What the role is]

In the Sanitation and Industry Policy Department (SIPD) under the Public Health Operations Policy Division (PHOPD), you will be part of the team that develops, reviews and implements policies to strengthen smoking prohibition and improve public health outcomes in Singapore.

This includes developing smoking prohibition initiatives, reviewing legislation and regulatory requirements, translating policy objectives into implementable plans, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to support effective implementation. You will be working in a fast-paced and evolving environment that requires sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities, workstreams and stakeholders concurrently.

[What you will be working on]

You will be responsible for the following:

 

• Formulate, review and implement smoking prohibition policies and regulatory frameworks to support public health outcomes
• Review existing policies and develop new policy initiatives to address emerging smoking prohibition challenges
• Engage and work closely with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners and premises owners, to align policy requirements and facilitate implementation
• Partner operations divisions on policy implementation, regulatory and enforcement-related matters.
• Respond to and manage public and internal queries on smoking prohibition, public cleanliness and related policy matters
• Conduct policy research and analyse data, trends and stakeholder feedback to support policy review and development
• Prepare briefing materials, presentations and correspondence for management
• Assist in any other duties assigned

• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear policy papers, reports and presentations
• Mature, proactive, meticulous and resourceful, able to work independently and collaboratively
• Confident in engaging diverse stakeholders and building consensus
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in policy development, implementation, regulatory work or stakeholder engagement will be an advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
