What this opportunity involves:

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual & Smart Building PoE Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support for AV conference spaces, Power over Ethernet (PoE) powered smart building systems including lighting, as well as environmental sensors and IoT devices. The candidate will provide support to ensure proper availability and functionality of all AV and PoE systems, equipment, and spaces, while delivering rapid-response troubleshooting expertise. This is a client-facing role requiring close collaboration with clients, their customers, and cross-functional technical teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

Audio Visual Systems Support

  • Provide white-glove technical support for internal, customer, and C-level executive meetings
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of video conferencing services including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, and Cisco Webex platforms
  • Bring technical expertise and guidance for the deployment and operation of Crestron Flex, Polycom VTC codecs, and Cisco collaboration endpoints
  • Proactively monitor and manage conference room booking systems
  • Review standard setup specifications for meetings and conferences
  • Contact clients to ensure proper setup of configurable rooms per specifications (table layout, airwall operations, technology configuration including microphones and projection)
  • Ensure cleanliness, temperature, and functionality of conference rooms
  • Maintain conference room standards for signage, equipment, and seating
  • Respond to client requests promptly and professionally

Smart Building PoE Systems Support

PoE Lighting Systems

  • Support and maintain PoE lighting infrastructure including Molex, MHT, and Igor systems
  • Troubleshoot PoE gateways, drivers, sensors, switches/panels, and fixtures
  • Perform routine and proactive testing to ensure functionality of equipment before use
  • Monitor and manage lighting control systems and respond to sensor-related issues
  • Execute firmware upgrades on PoE lighting components following established procedures
  • Utilize diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and system validation

General Technical Support

  • Perform electronics troubleshooting to determine and localize system problems
  • Maintain audio/video devices and associated wiring
  • Create and manage support tickets in Enterprise Service Platform (ESP/ServiceNow)
  • Conduct daily monitoring procedures to ensure smooth operation of smart building systems
  • Execute RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes for defective equipment with vendors
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation and asset records
  • Ensure consumables and attic stock are properly managed and available
  • Communicate maintenance or repair needs to appropriate technical teams

Documentation & Compliance

  • Review and interpret as-built documentation including RCP drawings, patching schedules, and gateway schedules
  • Maintain equipment inventory and update asset management systems
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in ticketing system

Sound like you? This is what we’re looking for:

  • 2 years' experience in a client/customer service-oriented environment, preferably in a corporate conference center or smart building environment
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Office in an office environment
  • Familiarity with integrated AV systems
  • Familiarity with Power over Ethernet (PoE) technologies and IoT devices
  • Strong working knowledge of video conferencing platforms (WebEx)
  • Familiarity with PoE standards
  • Basic understanding of building automation and control systems
  • Electronics troubleshooting skills with ability to determine and localize problems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics
  • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification
  • DSP Programming certification (BIAMP, QSC)
