What you'll do

  • Performing Winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on Generator HV windings on customer sites globally.
  • Carrying out basic mechanical strip-down (and rebuild) of machines to gain access to the generator windings.
  • Carrying out electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field.
  • Carrying out visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor and excitation system.
  • Carrying out in-situ generator winding repairs including stator re-wedge work.
  • Working as part of a team for on-site stator strip and rewind operations.
  • Assisting mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments, which will not necessarily involve winding related activities.
  • Supervising and training internal and external customers.
  • Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers premises.
  • Carrying out an on-site risk assessment on every assignment.
  • Carrying out other reasonable duties as directed from time to time by the Field Service Manager

  • Have experience representing the company at customer sites and operating remotely on own initiative while meeting required standards.

Join the Baker Hughes Americas BRUSH Team to carry out On-site inspection, testing and repair of stator, rotor and exciter windings of large high voltage electric generators.

As an Americas Field Service Winding Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing Winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on Generator HV windings on customer sites globally.
