About this role

Axiom, a global leader in alternative legal services, is working with a well-known telecommunications and technology company seeking an experienced government contracts lawyer to join their legal team. This will be a full-time role, based remotely in Australia. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a high-calibre team, providing thoughtful, practical and commercially focused legal guidance across complex contracting matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice and guidance to a diverse range of internal stakeholders.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and related documentation.
  • Identify, assess and advise on legal, contractual and commercial risks, providing pragmatic solutions.
  • Support the business on key projects, initiatives and strategic matters from a legal perspective.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with legal, commercial, procurement and broader business teams.
  • Manage a varied and evolving portfolio of matters, balancing competing priorities and delivering high-quality advice within required timeframes.

Qualifications:

  • Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to a broad range of internal stakeholders across a diverse portfolio of matters.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, advising on key legal and contractual risks.
  • Partner closely with legal, commercial and business teams to support strategic projects, initiatives and day-to-day business requirements.
  • Must hold a current Australian Government Baseline or NV1 security clearance, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
