Job Description

Focus of the role

This network operations role plays a crucial part supporting Telstra’s International Networks, with a focus on satellite infrastructure, transmission, voice and IP platforms.

About the role

You’ll work closely with Telstra Engineering, satellite operators, customer NOCs, GSD and GOC teams to resolve complex faults, support escalated customer issues and maintain reliable service outcomes.

PLEASE NOTE : The role includes participation in a 24/7 callout roster supporting the Oxford Falls Teleport in Sydney.

What you’ll do

  • Provide Level 1 and 2 assurance support for international network services, including satellite, transmission, voice and IP platforms.

  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex or escalated incidents, working across Engineering, NOC, GSD, GOC, satellite operators and customer teams.

  • Complete planned events, network augmentations and service provisioning tasks, maintaining accurate records in SNOW, Veritas and Nylte.

  • Maintain operational performance of satellite infrastructure, network elements, environmental systems and associated cabling.

  • Contribute specialist technical advice, process improvement and cost optimisation opportunities across the team.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong technical depth across telecommunications networks, satellite infrastructure and field services.

  • Experience with transmission testing, cabling standards, network operations and supplier-managed environments.

  • Confidence investigating complex incidents and making sound technical decisions in operational environments.

  • Working knowledge of IT systems, performance monitoring, JIRA, Confluence, SNOW, Veritas and Nylte.

  • Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Satellite, fixed, transmission, IP, subsea and voice networks
