What’s the opportunity?

 

Reporting to the Safety, Systems and Compliance Specialist, the Health and Safety Advisor supports Northparkes' commitment to safe and sustainable operations by partnering with leaders, employees and contractors to deliver practical safety advice, manage risks and drive continuous improvement across site.

 

Based at our Northparkes Operation, you’ll:

 

• Facilitate risk assessments, incident investigations and workplace inspections.
• Provide health and safety advice to operational and project teams.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems and initiatives.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and other safety training activities.
• Assist with contractor management, compliance activities and action tracking.

Does this sound like you?

 

You are a passionate and proactive health and safety professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams to achieve practical and effective safety outcomes. You have strong risk management capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach that enables you to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

• A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and or significant industry experience, preferably within mining or a heavy industrial environment.
• Experience facilitating risk assessments, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Sound knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice.
• Experience working within Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems and supporting contractor management processes.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
• ICAM investigation training (desirable) and a current manual driver's licence (mandatory).
