The Job - Summary of Function:

  • Develop strong relationships with Moog Ireland’s key customers – other SDG sites. Ensure that Moog Ireland is focused on meeting these customers’ needs & be the customer advocate.
  • Develop close co-operation with the design groups either locally or remotely and coordinate collaborative development activity.
  • Meet Program business goals of “100/100” in terms of the 4 key Moog Ireland objectives – Quality, Delivery, Service and Cost.
  • Program lead of new product development, product introduction and support.
  • Integrate activities across multiple functions to ensure seamless delivery of new programs.

The activities managed by the Program Manager include:

  • Production preparation including close co-ordination of all activities relating to product introduction procurement of materials and production resources either internally based or as necessary to fulfil offset product requirements.
  • Product introduction plans and any appropriate phase in / phase out plans with other related products.
  • Sales and order demand input planning in relation to Program lead portfolio.
  • Consideration and compliance with product licensing regulations.
  • Each program covers the life of the program, which includes obsolescence planning and after-market support.
  • Monitoring program, product cost and schedule for New Product Introduction programs. Communicate significant changes in program status. Monitoring progress and initiating corrective action as required ensuring the plan is achieved. Reporting program KPIs.
  • Clear communication to all parties, both within MOOG Ireland and the wider MOOG community, about program status and relevant issues.
  • Contribute to Program Management function within Moog Ireland through active participation in group meetings, regular report/status generation and co-operation with the other site functions (Finance, Operations etc.)

The Ideal Candidate - Qualifications & Experience Criteria

  • University Degree or higher in Engineering or other related discipline or 5 to 10 years of electronics and Project Management experience.
  • Additional courses in business, general management, project management or leadership skills would be an advantage.

Specific experience in the following areas would be a significant advantage:

  • Program leadership of geographically spread multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Production process within an electronics facility.
  • Product development cycle for electronic products.

Personal characteristics

It is envisaged that this individual will have:

  • good leadership skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • excellent communication skills (both written and oral).

The individual must be self-motivated, be able to prioritise and possess a systematic approach to problem solving. This role may require travel to Europe, Asia and the US.
