Project Engineer

Our Client, an established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in civil works, fabrication, and welding to oversee and supervise the execution of various plant-related infrastructure projects. The role involves managing all aspects of on-site civil and fabrication work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating with stakeholders, and optimizing resource utilization. This position plays a key role in supporting plant operations by ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all on-site civil and fabrication activities to ensure timely and efficient project execution. Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and company standards. Work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment and smooth workflow. Prepare and assess construction and fabrication plans, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and project goals. Track project milestones and progress, proactively addressing delays or issues to maintain timelines. Allocate and manage resources such as labor, equipment, and materials to enhance efficiency and control costs. Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Resolve on-site issues and operational bottlenecks to maintain continuity of work. Supervise all fabrication activities within the plant and workshop, including inspection and validation of welding work. Maintain comprehensive records of project activities, including daily logs and reports. Requirements Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Fabrication Technology. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in civil construction and fabrication within an industrial or manufacturing setting. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other engineering tools. Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite. Effective verbal and written communication in both English and Kiswahili. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Decision-making skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
