About this role

Company Description

Sodexo is a global leader in Quality-of-Life services, partnering with organisations across Australia to deliver exceptional food, facilities management, and workplace experience solutions. With a strong presence in corporate, resources, healthcare, and education sectors, we're driven by our purpose to improve quality of life for all we serve — and that starts with building a team who shares our passion for people.

Job Description

Across Western Australia, Sodexo manages the operations, maintenance, and refurbishment of non-process infrastructure for clients in the mining and oil & gas sectors, delivering the quality catering, hospitality, and facilities services that keep the resource sector running.

Sodexo Projects is looking for an experienced Project Lead to join our professional, passionate team on a permanent, full-time basis. Based out of our Balcatta office with regular travel to sites as needed, this role calls for someone who combines strong technical capability with proven managerial skill to successfully deliver assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and compliantly manage and deliver building and construction projects in remote locations across Australia, primarily the Pilbara region of WA
  • Champion safety through regular site visits and on-the-ground leadership, working toward reduced incidents and a zero-accident culture
  • Deliver a broad project portfolio, including housing and village accommodation refurbishments, critical infrastructure upgrades and replacements, major civil works, airport upgrades, central facilities upgrades (dining rooms, kitchens, wet messes), and a range of minor works
  • Deploy and manage end-to-end Project Management services across multiple sites, including:
      • Defining project scope, planning, cost estimation, and schedule management
      • Delivering projects in line with client expectations, company objectives, and contractual requirements
      • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
      • Procuring the resources needed for assigned projects
      • Establishing and developing high-performing project teams
      • Reviewing and authorising construction planning, programming, and completion schedules
      • Reviewing and authorising subcontractor engagement and major subcontract variations
      • Support the wider Projects team, including the contract and commercial management function

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated project management experience in building and construction across multiple sites, ideally within the resources sector
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Solid experience in tender/quote/bid preparation and evaluation
  • Strong work ethic and sound understanding of corporate requirements and processe
  • Proven business acumen in defining, measuring, and professionally implementing stakeholder relationship improvement initiatives
  • Proactive communicator with strong negotiation skills and the ability to present confidently to a range of audiences
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
