About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in Doncaster, offering a salary of up to £33,000 depending on experience and hours.

About the Practice

The practice is a spacious, modern veterinary facility located close to the A1, M1 and M18, with Doncaster town centre within walking distance.

The established team includes 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 VCA and 5 Client Care Advisors, providing a strong and collaborative working environment.

The practice has recently expanded into an additional space, creating a large clinical environment with excellent facilities, including:

• Dedicated dental suite and dental X-ray

• Digital X-ray

• Ultrasound

• ECG

• In-house laboratory

• 5 consultation rooms

• 2 preparation areas, including separate medical and surgical spaces

• Modern inpatient and theatre facilities

The practice is Practice Standards approved and operates as a training practice for Student Veterinary Nurses.

Nurses are encouraged to work to the full extent of their clinical abilities, with dedicated Client Care Advisors helping manage the client journey so RVNs can focus on clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to inpatients.

• Support surgical and theatre procedures.

• Conduct nurse consultations and clinics.

• Undertake appropriate Schedule 3 procedures.

• Monitor and care for patients throughout their treatment.

• Assist Veterinary Surgeons with medical and surgical cases.

• Contribute to the daily clinical running of the practice.

• Maintain consistently high standards of patient welfare and nursing care.

• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

• Help support and develop Student Veterinary Nurses where appropriate.

• Lead by example and contribute positively to the wider nursing team.

• Utilise nursing skills across all areas of the practice.

Candidate Profile

They are looking for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse who wants to make full use of their clinical skills and play an integral role within the practice.

The role could suit both newly qualified RVNs and experienced Veterinary Nurses.

The ideal candidate will be:

• RCVS registered or eligible for registration.

• Confident across all aspects of veterinary nursing.

• Comfortable working in inpatient care, theatre and nurse consultations.

• Interested in developing and utilising Schedule 3 skills.

• Well organised and able to manage competing priorities.

• A strong communicator with excellent client-care skills.

• Comfortable leading by example.
