About this role

[What the role is]

The Food Manufacturing & Agritech division drives the development of Singapore’s food manufacturing and agrifood technology sectors in support of the organisation’s broader economic objectives. The division works closely with companies and relevant stakeholders to strengthen sector competitiveness, support enterprise growth and advance industry development outcomes.

[What you will be working on]

This portfolio plays a key role in shaping the growth and competitiveness of Singapore’s food manufacturing sector, with a focus on resource optimisation, innovation, productivity and export growth.

Account Management and Enterprise Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with local food manufacturing companies to understand their business priorities, growth strategies and development needs.

  • Assess enterprise needs and recommend relevant support to strengthen capabilities, drive innovation and productivity, and support internationalisation.

  • Work with companies and internal stakeholders to translate growth opportunities into actionable development plans and initiatives.

Sector Development and Industry Insights

  • Develop insights on food manufacturing sub-sectors, including emerging trends, opportunities and challenges that may affect sector growth and competitiveness.

  • Develop sub-sector initiatives that support economic objectives, including resource optimisation, innovation and export growth.

  • Monitor industry developments and draw together company and market insights to support well-reasoned recommendations and programme improvements.

Market Development and Internationalisation

  • Develop suitable go-to-market initiatives to help Singapore food manufacturers expand into specific overseas markets.

  • Collaborate across teams and with relevant partners to support the planning and delivery of market development efforts.

[What we are looking for]

What You’ll Be Using and Applying

  • Knowledge or experience in business strategy, economic development, industry development, food manufacturing, international business or related disciplines.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear recommendations and actionable plans.

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage credibly and communicate effectively with business and other stakeholders.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand enterprise needs and work across organisational boundaries.

  • Good project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

  • An interest in Singapore’s economic development and in supporting the growth and competitiveness of the food manufacturing sector.

We welcome applications at both the Development Partner and Senior Development Partner levels. Candidates appointed at the Senior Development Partner level will be expected to demonstrate greater strategic leadership, exercise sound judgement in complex matters, and lead initiatives of broader scope and impact.
