  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives including operating model change, offshoring, process automation, technology implementations and industry regulatory change.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders across Trading, Treasury, Risk, Finance, Technology and Operations.

What’s the role?

You'll lead a globally connected settlements function responsible for supporting Fixed Income and Derivatives products across international markets and currencies. Working with teams across multiple regions, you'll help ensure critical settlement activities run smoothly, accurately and efficiently while supporting the continued growth of Westpac's institutional banking business.

You'll provide leadership to a large team, drive improvements to processes and controls, and work closely with stakeholders across Front Office, Treasury, Risk, Technology and Operations. This role is ideal for an experienced financial markets operations leader who enjoys balancing people leadership, operational excellence and strategic change.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how a global settlements function evolves, helping deliver a more consistent, resilient and scalable operating model across multiple locations. This is a permanent role based in Sydney, currently leading teams across Sydney and Chennai, with product oversight across all time zones in Westpac's global Financial Markets business.

 

What do I need?

You'll bring strong financial markets operations experience, a deep understanding of global markets products and a passion for leading high-performing teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of financial markets operations, including fixed income, derivatives, money markets and treasury products.
  • Hands-on experience managing settlements across products such as bonds, derivatives, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps and global deposits.
